Blueberry Crisp: A Deliciously Simple Dessert

A very easy and delicious dessert recipe that is delicious with peaches, blueberries apples, or other fruits of similar nature. The dessert has a beautiful cake crust after baking.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1/4 cup margarine softened
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 Cup self-rising, self-locking flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground Nutmeg
  • 1 cup boiling water 1 cup boiling

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the Oven begin by heating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175degC). This ensures that your dessert bakes evenly, and also has the perfect golden brown crust.
  2. make up for the Blueberries Place your fresh blueberries in an 8×8-inch square baking dish. Be sure to thoroughly wash them before placing them in the baking dish.
  3. Blend the Margarine and sugar in a large bowl blend with softened margarine and 3/4 cup white sugar until the mixture becomes soft and smooth. This makes a smooth base for your delicious crisp.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients Mix self-rising flour into the creamed mixture, then mix in the milk. This method helps maintain the consistency of the batter.
  5. Layer the batter The batter should be poured over the blueberries. Be sure to overflow them evenly. This will make a gorgeous crust while it bakes.
  6. ready the topping in another bowl make a mix of all the rest of 3/4 cups sugar with ground nutmeg and cornstarch. Sprinkle this mixture on the batter.
  7. Add Boiling water Then, carefully pour hot water all over your dish. It may sound odd however it is a great way to make a thick syrupy base for baking.
  8. Bake The dish should be placed in the oven that is preheated and bake for approximately 1 hour up to the point that it’s top has a dark brown, and then the blueberries start bubbling.
  9. Cool and serve Let for the blueberry crisp to chill for minimum 10 minutes prior to serving. The cooling process assists in setting the dish making it much easier to serve.
