Hot Chocolate Recipe: A Warm and Cozy Indulgence

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk: In a small saucepan, add the milk and warm it up over moderately low temperature. Stir frequently to prevent the milk from burning. It should be warm, but not boiling.
  2. Blend in Cocoa and sugar: Once the milk is warm and the cocoa powder is added, mix in the milk and sugar. Continue to whisk until it is well dissolved and thoroughly mixed.
  3. Incorporate Chocolate Chips Add the chips of chocolate, whisking continuously until they completely melt to the milk giving it a thick and smooth texture.
  4. Finalize with Vanilla Add a dash of vanilla extract, and give it a final stir to blend.
  5. Serve immediately: Pour the hot chocolate into mugs, then top with your favorite garnishes, such as marshmallows, whipped cream or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • You can modify the sweetness making use of the bittersweet chips of chocolate instead.
  • For a drink that is more nourishing you can try half and half instead of milk.
