Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar

Spices

  • 1 tsp cumin ground
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add tomato paste and cook for 2–3 minutes to enhance flavor.
  • Stir in vinegar, sugar, and all the spices. Mix well to combine.
  • Simmer for another 5 minutes. If needed, add a splash of water to reach desired consistency.
  • Let cool, then blend until smooth (optional). Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

This Tex-Mex paste is great for seasoning taco meat, rice, or soups. It keeps for up to 1 week in the fridge.
